Being depressed isn’t a choice

I’m in the midst of a long running depressive episode, made worse by the fact that Ive had to go a few days without my meds, thank you insurance company. Which means I’m anxious and I haven’t slept in almost two days.

But all these things aside, if one more person says, “cheer up, it’s not so bad” or “it’s all in your head, just think happy thoughts,” I’m going to lose what little bit of sanity I have left.

On top of this I was told I was being “childish” and need to “grow up” when I reached out to a friend. It’s either sad or funny.

  1. I’m so sorry, i’m hypomanic, ? sliding into depressed mood because a lapse in my meds (lithium & lamictal) from Feb 26 -march 4 due to fu¢|<ring insurance screw up. Got so bad, I almost went to ER last week. Seeing my Pdoc tomorrow, good luck!
